No matter how you spin it, boxing is a great workout. Between improving your cardiovascular endurance to enhancing your hand-eye coordination, boxing has countless benefits. Plus, punching and hitting something is sometimes exactly what you need after a long day.

After consulting with my friends who love boxing, and thinking about my past trips to local gyms, I’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to the best boxing classes in St. Louis.

Best group classes: The Boxing Gym

Most aspiring boxers are attracted to The Boxing Gym for their group classes, which are not for the faint of heart! Classes are taught like a traditional boot camp and aimed at those who want to get in shape and build their confidence through a variety of calisthenics and through hitting and kicking their own punching bag.

The Boxing Gym also has cardio classes, including Cardio Kickboxing, Cardio Boxing, and Fit Camp. If classes aren’t your thing, this gym also offers personal training in boxing, TRX training, kettlebells, and strength training.

Most unique: 9Round Fitness

9Round Fitness offers a truly one-of-a-kind boxing workout. Here’s how it works – you can show up anytime you want, as there’s no class times. No matter when you get there, you’ll get semi-private training with an instructor. Then, you can enjoy a circuit-style workout, spending 3 minutes at a time at nine different training stations. You’ll get a full-body workout and one-on-one attention.

During the circuit workout, the first two stations specialize in functional movements with lighter weights, medicine balls, and jump ropes. In stations 3 through 8, it’s all about boxing and kickboxing skills. Then, the last round focuses on core work. This workout will not only improve your boxing skills, but completely transform your body!
