Bella Vita Bistro

This slightly hidden gem is far too often overlooked for my liking. For your next pasta-craving, head on down to West Street and enjoy some delicious Northern Italian and continental French cuisine from the one and only Chef Adrian.

With delectable weekend specials and an affordable and delicious regular menu, Bella Vita Bistro has it all. So, don’t feel like you need to flock to Bradley Fair, Old Town, or Delano for high-class dining. West Street has got some of the best Italian in town—just be sure to make a reservation ahead of time!

Napoli Italian Eatery

This rustic fare inspired by the delicious cuisine of Naples is a favorite for families here in Wichita. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the ambiance is cozy enough to feel almost like home.

Their dishes are reasonably priced too, considering the quality. And yes–they have gluten-free substitutions available upon request for a small price!

On the last Thursday of each month, they host “Passport to Italy,” a deep dive into a specific Italian region’s culinary history. Good food and a history lesson? Sign me up!

Siena Tuscan Steakhouse

This date night steakhouse has more than just fine cuts of meat—they’ve also got fresh Italian meals that will make you weep with joy. On the ground floor of the Ambassador Hotel, Siena Tuscan Steakhouse is all about locally sourced, high-quality ingredients paired with delicious wines.

You can pair the classic and oh-so-fresh Caprese with a squid-ink, clam linguine, and delight in the multitude of textures and flavors on the tongue.

Grab your wallet and pearls—it’s time to go to the Italian steakhouse!

Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria

I do not give this title lightly, but Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria is beyond well-deserving. In my honest opinion, they’ve got the best pizza in Wichita.

Their delectable creations come straight from Naples, Italy. There, Piatto’s chefs studied under the tutelage of master Pizzaiolo Enzo Coccia. With a 6,000-pound, hand-built brick pizza oven, they deliver authenticity with every bite. Fresh mozzarella, fragrant basil, and an abundance of Roma tomatoes—count me in!

They even have a vegan pizza menu! Heaven in Wichita!

FioRito Ristorante

Y’all know I love College Hill, so I’m always happy to see new locally-owned businesses coming in! And FioRito is no exception—in fact, this may be the restaurant I’m most excited about this year.

This contemporary Italian ristorante makes all their bread and pasta in-house. They even have pasta shaped like a radiator! Their menu is mouth-wateringly delicious—from rigatoni and lamb to their famous pork meatballs, they’re taking Italian fare up a notch.

And if that weren’t enough, FioRito is community oriented.  Depending on the day, they offer a 10% discount on lunch for teachers, healthcare employees, first responders, or industry workers. Talk about loyal to local!

Angelo’s Italian Restaurant

Not only do they have some of the best pizza in town, but they’ve also got some fine Italian dining as well! They’ve been a local, Italian landmark since 1959 and hopefully will continue to be for years to come.

Yes, their supreme pizza is beloved by all, but their menu is bigger than that. It’s rare to find a restaurant that serves homemade sausage manicotti, let alone high-quality sausage manicotti. If you’re ready for gooey cheese, spiced meats, and robust red sauces, you’ve come to the right place.

Albero Café & Albero Bistro

After the sustained success of Albero Bistro, owner Hassan Ballout decided to open another restaurant, Albero Café. And Wichita rejoiced!

My personal favorite is the zesty Sicilian lemon pappardelle with nduja sausage. It brings some serious flavor and never disappoints! Quick side note: these two restaurants have slightly different menus, so you can always switch it up depending on your mood!

With lowkey decorations and a chill atmosphere, Albero is perfect for a casual lunch or a nicer dinner. Here’s the truth: you know it’s good when they open a second location… just saying!

Savute’s Italian Ristorante

This dinner-only Italian restaurant has been open since 1944, making it the oldest Italian restaurant in Wichita. That alone makes it worth a visit. Add in the delicious food and old-timey décor, and all of a sudden, you’re going once a week!

This restaurant is chock-full of memorabilia, so expect to learn a thing or two while indulging your tastebuds. With model airplanes hanging from the ceiling and lively chatter all around, this place always feels more like a home than a restaurant to me.

Vora Restaurant European

Last but not least, we have Vora Restaurant European, a combination of Italian and French cuisine. Ready for an intimate dinner? You’ve come to the right place.

This upscale restaurant is perfect for any fancy date night plans you’ve been meaning to make. Each meal is crafted with high-quality ingredients that are impossible not to enjoy. Their cocktails are unbelievably delicious—from sidecars to Aperol spritzes, they’ve got it all. Remember, you’re going to be coughing up a fair sum for this dreamy meal, but it’ll be worth it.

And yes, they have homemade biscotti! It really is a dream come true!
