Siena Tuscan Steakhouse

Elegant. Exquisite. Sophisticated.

That’s what you’ll be thinking once you step into the Ambassador Hotel and see the majesty that is Siena Tuscan Steakhouse. This high-class restaurant has craft cocktails and the most gorgeous ambiance that makes me want to redecorate my whole home.

If you’re looking for a fancy night out or a perfectly grilled, locally sourced steak, Siena Tuscan Steakhouse is calling your name. Come in business casual and get ready to shell out a pretty (but totally worth it) penny!

Egg Cetera

This family-owned joint made our Best Breakfast list and has only continued to grow in popularity. A combination of traditional American diner food and Hispanic classics, Egg Cetera has got breakfast down pat.

I love that they’ve taken breakfast and made it their own, and I know the rest of Wichita does too! And the interior is too cute. Check out Egg Cetera to switch up your breakfast routine and support yet another awesome local business!

  • Address: 242 N Mosley St, Wichita, KS, 67211

Sunflower Café

This cute coffee shop started as an espresso bus that spread caffeine-filled joy throughout all of Wichita. Now, they’ve taken residence in a restored fire station with cozy indoor and outdoor seating, so the homey space remains a hotspot for remote workers and fellow caffeine addicts.

Whether you need an espresso on the go or a delicious pastry served in a cutesy shop, Sunflower Café is ready to provide. Plus, it’s always fun to go on an adventure and try to find their Sunflower Bus!

Café Bel Ami

This restaurant made it onto our most romantic list, but I believe it’s deserving of more praise than that. Believe me, you don’t have to be romancing someone to enjoy the food and ambiance at Café Bel Ami!

You know you’re going to be eating good here (lemon herb salmon, anyone? How about that shrimp ravioli?), but this probably won’t be a daily lunch spot.

Stop by in your best business casual attire and melt into the soft, velvet seating. It’s time to treat yourself!

District Taqueria

With consistently good food and high-quality ingredients, District Taqueria is a downtown favorite for a reason.

You get to pick whether you want a bowl, burrito, taco, or quesadilla, and then choose the meat that goes along with it. They’ve got classics like pork carnitas and steak asada, mixed with funkier favorites like falafel, brisket barbacoa, and Caribbean pork.

This seat-yourself, modern take on lunch dining is fun, fresh, and sure to please.

Doo-Dah Diner

If you go around asking about the best breakfast in Wichita, chances are you’re going to hear about Doo-Dah Diner. Beloved by all (Harrison Ford included) Doo-Dah Diner has the greasiest, most delicious diner food you’ll ever eat. And that’s a guarantee.

From smothered burritos to biscuits and gravy to banana bread French toast, you can’t go wrong here. Get ready for a crowd, though, because Doo-Dah is always packed.

Make a reservation or order ahead of time and enjoy the best breakfast of your life.

First Mile Cantine

An offshoot of Bradley Fair’s First Mile Kitchen, the Cantine is revitalizing the downtown menu with their funky takes on breakfast and lunch.

Their chic aesthetic is like a breath of fresh air. Plus, with hefty portions and excellent fries, it’s not all about looks here.

Just like their sister restaurant, First Mile Cantine takes classic meals and offers their own modern twist. For example, their “Briskuits & Gravy” features smoked pork shoulder and brisket gravy served on top of homemade cheese and sage biscuits. Does it get any better than that?

Bite Me BBQ

Locals love it. Out-of-towners love it. Frankly, everyone loves it, because Bite Me BBQ brings it every single time.

Previously featured in our best BBQ in Wichita list, Bite Me BBQ is taking comfort food to a whole ‘nother level. Their ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, and each cut of meat is smoked to perfection. Their mac and cheese has a special white cheese sauce that is, arguably, the best in town.

If this place is good enough for my meat-loving family, it’ll be good enough for yours too. Beyond good, in fact!

The Anchor

This fun gastropub takes a classic dive bar and adds their distinctive, punk rock flair. With delicious, greasy burgers and high-quality brews, the Anchor is a rowdy, rambunctious, and lively restaurant that caters to everyone.

Truly, though, they welcome everyone here. So much so that you’ll find it difficult to walk out of there without having made a new friend.

Psst – Try their Haystack! Your stomach might not thank you later, but I promise the taste is worth it!
