best thrift stores wichita

I’ve been thrift shopping since I was 10 years old. Seriously.

I’ve thrifted cross-country and even around the world! I wish I could pretend it’s just a hobby, but at this point it’s becoming more like a way of life.

With all this in mind, I think it’s fair to say I’m a little bit of an thrift store expert. Or addict…

Either way, I’ve compiled a list of the best thrift stores here in Wichita, Kansas!

Read on for the hidden treasures, antique stashes, and truly fun finds scattered throughout good old Doo Dah City.

My personal favorite: Goodwill

With several locations throughout Wichita, there’s always a Goodwill when you need one. Each store follows a similar layout, so if you’re prone to getting lost like me, Goodwill is like a breath of fresh air.

As an avid sewer and quilter, I love shopping at Goodwill, because they sell fabric. Yep, pillowcases, blankets, and plain ol’ yards of fabric.

Clothes, decorations, furniture, kitchen appliances, books, and fabric? Goodwill literally has it all.

Best for hidden treasures: Fun Finds

This little local find on the west side of town is full of, you guessed it, fun finds. Their items are priced fairly, AKA completely affordable. Tucked away on Central, this thrift store may not look like much on the outside but looks can be deceiving!

If you need to furnish your house, update your glassware (those things are easy to break after all), or simply upgrade your wardrobe, drive on down to Fun Finds. A perfect way to support a small business on a budget!

Most organized store: Economy Corner

Now, I should warn you right off the bat, the Economy Corner’s hours are a little confusing. They are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00-4:30, and then Saturday from 11:00-3:00. Whew! But if you can find time during your lunch break or in between dropping kids off at their soccer practice, this place is worth checking out.

With a sweet mission and a dedicated staff, Economy Corner is well-organized and clutter-free. Two necessities for a good thrift store.

This joint is perfect for finding those vintage and antique treasures!

Best for savings: Gently Used Resale

If you identify as a coupon-hoarder, deal-seeker, or savings-hound, you are going to love this thrift shop.

Gently Used Resale is constantly promoting new sales on its Facebook page, so staying up to date on those take-it-or-leave-it 50% off deals just got a whole lot easier.

And people recommend stopping by once a week to check out all the new items. Talk about variety! The staff are sweet volunteers who dedicate their time to making Gently Used Resale the best it can be. This place is definitely worth a follow (clink on the link below), as well as a quick visit.

Ye old reliable: DAV

Clothes for under $5? Shoes between $3-$4? Of course, these prices will vary depending on location and brand, but goodness gracious! The DAV is the best thrift store for cheap finds and treasures that won’t break the bank.

With two locations located in Wichita, the DAV’s got skin in the game when it comes to local thrifting. Although some reviews complained of clutter and disorganization, my experiences there have always been positive.

Plus, the DAV is a nonprofit that spends all its profits on disabled veterans.

Best for your pet: Paws Crossed Thrift Store

Alright, I’ll admit, this thrift store is a little off-topic. But come on! A thrift store dedicated to making our pets’ lives better! There’s nothing better.

Whether you need food, a scratching post, a new toy, or some advice, Paws Crossed has got you covered with discounted, second hand pet supplies. Those veterinarian bills can really add up, so take some stress off your shoulders and shop here instead.

Best for shopping with little ones: Kid to Kid

No thrift store list would be complete without an adorable kid’s store dedicated to cute clothes and great savings. Kid to Kid is just that.

Most of the clothes and toys have barely been worn, and some still have the tags on! With amiable staff and a kid-friendly environment, Kid to Kid just made shopping a whole lot easier.

Best for, well, working women: Working Woman’s Shop

For all my working women out there, this is the place for you. Believe me, I know that buying business clothes can be very expensive. So if you need to step up your wardrobe (whether you’re starting a new job, outgrowing your clothes, or just want to switch it up), head on down to West St

Although Working Woman’s Shop is technically a consignment store, they offer affordable clothes and items just like any other thrift store in Doo-Dah City. Worth a mention, if you ask me.
